Hi Everyone, It is Taylor here… I can’t believe it is already the end of May. The weather has finally warmed and well, the rain has poured and we are working on cleaning up the farm from winter.
The animals are loving the fresh grass to graze on and the farm is “coming alive” with the sound of the birds and the farm equipment. This is the time of year that I love most when everything turns to green and you hear the birds, smell the fresh cutting of the hay fields and finally get back to work. Yes, I said it. . . back to work!
As many of you know from seeing me around the farm last year, I was very pregnant most of 2017. It was a challenge for me not to be able to lift the bags of animal feed and help to unload the hay on the busy summer days. I didn’t realize how much I missed doing those things… In the end though, it was worth it! Our beautiful daughter Jana arrived on November 15th of last year after a smooth delivery.
We named her Jana after my father Jan that passed away in 2013 from his battle against Brain Cancer. I see so much of my dad in Jana…even down to those dark blue eyes. She has been the absolute best thing that has happened to Brandon and I since losing my father.
Jana is now 6 months old and learning to sit and even stick her feet in her mouth (yuck!). She loves visiting the farm to feed the animals and riding on the gator with her dad. We are so excited for her to grow up on the very same farms I did and to learn the hard work ethic it takes to be a farmer.
When you visit us this fall, don’t forget to say hi. You can usually find Brandon & I running around somewhere and well… This year Jana will be strapped to my back and down there too! 🙂
We are already starting to work on some new attractions for your visit this fall that we can’t wait to share. See ya’ll this fall!
Until then,
-Taylor
